Mary Winkler Is Released From Custody

Mary Winkler, the Tennessee preacher's wife - who was convicted in April of voluntary manslaughter in the 2006 shooting death of her husband, Matthew Winkler - was released from custody yesterday. Ms. Winkler was discharged from a Tennessee mental health facility after being treated for depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Ms. Winkler will be declining all interviews due to the on-going custody case involving her children -whom she has not seen in over a year - and a $2 million civil suit filed by her late husband's family.

The children have been living with Matthew's parents since the trial began last spring.

Mary will be living with friends and will resume working at her former job at the dry cleaners in McMinnville, Tennessee.
