Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Refferal Service

Years ago, I had a family member who was addicted to drugs and alcohol. She drank so heavily, and used so many drugs that she was unable to maintain a quality lifestyle - she pretty much stayed in oblivion most of the time, and over the course of many years, she lost several jobs, and ruined many relationships that could have been good. She isolated herself from family and friends, and on a few occasions, came close to death.

I remember countless times, I or other family members would sit on the phone for hours and hours at a time just trying to find a good drug rehab center that would take her. It was just so frustrating finding the right one that was in our area. I can tell you from experience, it is not easy to find a quality rehabilitation clinic. My family member was in and out of them for years. It would have been nice to have been able to just pick up the phone and call someone who knew which ones were good, and which ones were not. It would have saved my family member a world of pain.

Times have changed since those days with the invention of the internet, and now it is much easier to find drug treatment for those who desperately need it. 4rehabilitation.com is a non-profit drug rehabilitation referral service with an experienced and caring drug rehabilitation placement staff who can direct you to a quality center in your area. Simply give them a call, or fill out their drug and alcohol assessment and the staff will assist you in finding the best quality treatment for your individual needs.

At 4rehabilitation.com, you will also find a wealth of information on addiction, specific drugs, intervention and even aftercare. It is a fantastic resource, and I urge you to check it out soon if you or a loved one is in need of drug and/or alcohol treatment.

Watch Cloverfield Online For Free

I haven't seen this one yet, but I checked all the links and they're good to go at the moment, so if you're going to watch it, you better hurry, because I doubt they're going to be up long.

It's a cam version, so the quality kinda sucks. But you can't complain when it's FREE.

SupernovaTube.com
Part ONE
Part TWO
Part THREE

Here's an alternative link at Google, but I don't expect this one to be up for very long. On the plus side, it's only in one part.

Synopsis:

Five young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal, horrifying event of their lives.

Enjoy!

In Tribute To Heath Ledger (1979-2008)

I was incredibly saddened yesterday when my daughter called to inform me of Heath Ledger's untimely death. What a waste! He was so young and talented, and had so much going for him. He played important roles in some of my favorite movies, like "The Patriot" with Mel Gibson, and "A Knight's Tale." I can't wait to see the upcoming Batman film, "The Dark Knight," in which Heath plays The Joker.

I just want to cry. I am really going to miss him. Below is a news video about the initial autopsy. By the way, it was inconclusive. I just don't want to hear that he overdosed, even though I'm sure that's what it's going to be. This is reminiscent of River Phoenix's death.

Goodbye, Heath, baby...you will be sorely missed. Ah! I'm just so damn sad about this. WHYYYYYYY???

Wholesale T-Shirts Online

My husband, Charlie and I were brainstorming the other day and began to toss around the idea of silk-screening our own line of novelty t-shirts, using some of Charlie's brilliant and creative concepts, and selling them at flea markets, consignment shops, and even on eBay. We have some very cool designs in mind, and I think we will do well with it, once we get everything set up. What we have been really concerned about is where to get the blank t-shirts at a price we can afford, and hopefully be able to turn a decent profit.

Today, I was a happy camper to finally run across a great place to buy wholesale t-shirts of all sizes and colors, and from what I have seen, they are as low as $1.35 per shirt! WholesaleDirectUSA has much more to choose from than just the regular t-shirt. They also provide baby doll shirts, long sleeve t-shirts, thermals, sweatshirts, hoodies and even wholesale urban wear. I think that's fantastic, because we'll be able to sell a variety of different types of shirts, once we're ready to go to the markets. The site is incredibly easy to navigate, as you can search through their t-shirts by color, size or type, so I'll be able to to find exactly what I'm looking for in a flash.

I think this will be a fun project for Charlie and I to do together in our spare time, and WholesaleDirectUSA will make it easy for us to make a good profit, by providing us a convenient place to buy wholesale t-shirts online at an affordable price. If you've been looking for a fun money-making project to do, you might consider creating your own t-shirt logo designs, selling them at a variety of places, and making a profit for yourself. If you do, I highly recommend stopping by WholesaleDirectUSA for your blank t-shirts.

Sharing Cool Pics

I really like the photo above for some reason...
even though it has filth being belched into the sky in the background.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I recently collected some cool photos from a college site, (can't remember the name of it at the moment, but if I find it again, I'll post the link). Anyway, I wanted to share them with my readers here at Spiral Journal, even though they are off topic...I guess it's ok to post off-topic once in a while, eh? Most of these are new to me, but you may have seen some of them before. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Check out this very cool guitar made from Legos!

Apparently, the damage done to this car was from
SUPER-STEROID-DAWG below!
Geez, I'd hate to meet up with him in a dark ally!

Aaah! Now HE'S got the right idea!

Ingenius public service message:

Budweiser, in it's natural habitat.
Looks like it's every fish for himself.

Interesting way to unload bricks:

I am guessing this is a snow sculpture of the Parthenon:

Anybody know what could have happened to
put this car in that particular predicament?
Tornado maybe?

Eh...no comment on this one.

Martial Arts: Matrix Style

Illegal aliens parked in a "no landing zone."

Here's one way to show her you care:

I wish I could've seen the outcome of this shot!

Someone please tell me what this lady is doing!

He's in a punk band, so it's ok.

I told you I got these from a college site.
Need I say more?

This next one I have seen before on another site,
and I believe it is a dust storm somewhere in a Middle Eastern desert.
Looks more frightening than a tornado, anyday!
-I saw this on "The Mummy."-

Not sure if this one is photoshopped or not,
but even if it is, it's still pretty cool, huh?

Hmmm...

This was probably no easy task, and it looks pretty cool to me.

Cute Animal Photos

I realize this is a bit off topic, but I guess I just wanted to share these with you because some of them are just so darn cute. I was hangin' out at one of the forums I frequent and was directed to a college site, to look at a funny picture. While I was there, I began to browse, and in between the photos of half naked girls, there were actually some pretty cool pics, like these cute, cuddly, and not-so-cuddly animals. My next post will be some other cool images I found - but without the animals.

I hope you enjoyed these cute animal pics!

Work From Home Doing Freelance Jobs

I recently ran across a place where you can sign up for free and get hooked up with freelance jobs. It's called GetAFreelancer.com, and there are dozens of new projects posted daily for freelancers. This is something new for me, and just today, I won my first bid on a project for data entry work, so I'll be starting that a little later this evening, and I'll post my progress here. Membership is free, but there is a Gold membership which is $12 monthly. It's not necessary to become a Gold member, but you will have a better chance of getting jobs if you upgrade. I haven't upgraded, but have bid on several jobs, and have only landed one, but at least I have my foot in the door now.

There's a LOT of competition on this site, and once I filled out my profile extensively with my experience and skills, I noticed a better communication with project providers. It's not so easy becoming established as a freelancer, but once you have taken a few jobs and have received some feedback, you have a better chance of getting the job you bid on. My advice is to do what I did, and bid as low as you can afford to go on your first few projects and communicate well via PM with the providers, letting them know exactly how low you are willing to go, and have them check your profile for your skills and experience.

Concerning the types of jobs you can bid on, there are many categories, including web design, data entry, article writing, accounting/bookkeeping, computer programing, engineering - you name it, it's probably there - and they add new categories regularly.

GetAFreelancer.com receives a commission on all the jobs you take, unless you are a Gold member - which is another reason to upgrade. As time goes by, I will probably upgrade to the Gold membership, but for now, we'll just see how it goes. If you are interested in data entry jobs, or article writing, there are tons of projects like this listed every single day! If you sign up or are already a member, I am very interested in knowing how well you do with this, so please leave a comment here and give us the "low-down."

High Quality Rugs At Low Prices

My daughter and son-in-law rented a very nice place over the weekend. The house sits on about 300 acres in some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen. There are already several flower beds nicely placed in various spots all around the house, so all my daughter will have to do is maintain them, and maybe add a few things here and there. I can't wait until Spring, so we can see what comes to life. I'm so proud for them. It really is a beautiful place, and they've waited so long for it.

Inside the house, there are many rooms with beautiful hardwood floors throughout. Since they are on a limited budget now, because of the cost of moving, I suggested they look at some cheap area rugs at a place called Superior Rugs that will accent those gorgeous floors. Not only are there three large bedrooms, but there is also a sunken den and a huge family room. Honestly, I don't know what they intend to do with all that space, since it's only the two of them - they have no children, and don't intend to have any for a while.

The den has been converted from what used to be the garage, and the cold concrete floor has been covered with very unattractive carpet. They will need a rug down there that will give warmth to the room, as well as a little ambiance. At Superior Rugs, there is a variety of traditional wool rugs to choose from, and they can find just the right one to suit their taste.

As I said, the family room is huge, and there is a cozy fireplace with bookshelves built in to the wall on each side. Just beautiful! Nothing gives mood to rooms like this better than oriental area rugs. At Superior Rugs, my daughter will be able to search for rugs by size and color, so she can match just the right one with her living room furniture - and she also will be able to do the same for those three large bedrooms. As for the kitchen, dining room and bath, she will need smaller ones. Superior rugs carries area rugs as small as 4x6, which is perfect for these rooms. I could use a few of these for my kitchen and bath as well.

Superior Rugs makes it easy for those of us with very little decorating skills. They provide a how-to guide for area rugs, complete with tips on selecting just the right one for whatever project you have. I highly recommend you check this place out. It's a fantastic place to find high quality rugs at low prices.

Watch "I Am Legend" Online - FREE!

I know this is probably a big no-no, but I didn't upload it, all I did was watch it, and of course, that's all you're going to do, so what's the harm, right? I LOVE THIS MOVIE! Will Smith RAWKS! He's one of my favorite actors - ever since The Fresh Prince of BelAir.

It's very good quality too, but please hurry, because I don't know how long these links will be working. It's in 4 parts, and you need to give each part time to load. What I did was opened part 1, and let it load (took about 10 minutes on my 5mb broadband). Then while I was watching part 1, I opened part 2 in another browser tab and let it load - and so on - so there was never any breaks. I could just continue right on watching.

It's on an Asian site, but don't worry about that. Maybe the links will stay up longer, who knows? I have included a synopsis of the movie below from IMDB.

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

Synopsis:
Robert Neville is a scientist who was unable to stop the spread of the terrible virus that was incurable and man-made. Immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and perhaps the world. For three years, Neville has faithfully sent out daily radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. But he is not alone. Mutant victims of the plague -- The Infected -- lurk in the shadows... watching Neville's every move... waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps mankind's last, best hope, Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. But he knows he is outnumbered... and quickly running out of time.

Get Paid To Blog!

I thought it might be a good idea to compile a list of the sites that pay you to blog so it will be easy for you to pick the ones you want to work with.

PayU2Blog
I do like this place, but as with many of these sites, there are advantages and disadvantages to working there. To begin, there are always assignments in my inbox and they payout every two weeks, so you don't have to wait a whole month to get paid. That is always good, no? However, as far as I can tell, there is no affiliate program in place and all the assignments pay only $5, and you can make more that that at other places. But, if you don't mind making only $5 per post, then I do recommend you try PayU2Blog, mainly because of the high volume of opportunities.

PayPerPost
PayPerPost is probably the most popular of the paid blogging sites. However, I have run into some drawbacks. Personally, I don't like to disclose in my posts that they are sponsored. I have a site-wide disclosure policy with a link in my sidebar. I've noticed that there are some opportunities there that require adding a disclosure badge at the end of the post. However, those are few and far between these days, as more and more advertisers don't want you to disclose within the post. PPP has implemented something called Real Rank and claim that opportunities are made available to users according to this number instead of Google Page Rank. I'm not sure how it all works, but since they did this, I'm not getting as many high paying assignments. Payout is 30 days after you submit your post, and I would rather get paid in one lump sum each month, or even better, every two weeks like some of the other blogging sites. But it's still a good place to work, and they do have a nice referral program, so I do recommend it.

Smorty
Smorty is my favorite of the paid blogging sites, because I get some good relevant assignments that pay very well. Not only that, but they payout each week! I was getting a bit skeptical during the holidays, because the assignments began to dwindle, but they have begun to flow in again, so I am guessing it was just the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. They do have a referral program in which you can make 5% of your referrals' earnings. This one is well worth your time, so be sure and check this one out!

Sponsored Reviews
This one is a little different than the others mentioned above, because you get a list of opportunities to view and then you bid on ones relevant to your blog. I like the way this works, because you are able to set your own price. But, be careful not to bid too high, or you won't get the assignment. And remember to take into consideration that Sponsored Reviews gets a commission from each assignment you take, but when you make your bid, you will be shown how much you get from it. I can't find on the site exactly what their commission percentage is, but just from bidding on opportunities, I figure it's around 35%, and that's not too bad. There is also a very nice referral program in place.

Blogsvertise
I have only completed a few tasks for Blogsvertise so far, so I'm not that familiar with this one. However, I thought it best to go ahead and list it here, so you can try it and see if it's for you. Assignments are emailed to bloggers as they come in. You will need to accept or decline the offer within 5 days. Like PayPerPost above, they payout 30 days after your task has been approved. The tasks I've completed have been anywhere from $8 to $14, but I don't get that many. I have changed the category and description of my blog, so we will see if that helps. They say to be very descriptive and add good tags when submitting your blog to them. Perhaps I just wasn't descriptive enough, so I have gone in and edited, so now it's just "wait and see."

I will add more sites to this list as I find them. I do know of a few more, but I want to try them out before I list them here, so I can give you a good review on them.

Happy Earning!

Marriage Fitness System

Last year, my husband and I had some marital issues and in April, we separated for about two months. It was probably one of the most difficult times of my life. I feel that if we had gotten some marriage counseling as soon as we began to feel distant from each other, we never would have split up. Just getting an objective opinion from someone outside our marriage would have helped tremendously. Fortunately, we reconciled, and we are very happy now, but it has taken much work on both sides. Marriage is something both parties have to work at every single day. If you ever stop, problems will arise, and divorce may be on the horizon.

Marriage Fitness with Mort Fertel is a fantastic place to start if you and your spouse are having problems. It could be just the thing you need to move toward stopping divorce. Mort not only helps couples resolve their problems, but if your spouse is uncooperative, he will help you to single-handedly fix your marriage, and we all know how difficult that can be. One thing I found very helpful is the free relationship assessment. After you sign up, Mort shows you a new alternative to marriage counseling. If you're interested in saving your marriage, I recommend you sign up for this. Like I said, it's free, so what have you got to lose?

Mort has created several different Marriage Fitness products and services, and I'm positive you will find one designed specifically for your situation. Take a look at the many happy success stories from couples who have completed Mort's programs. I greatly recommend this website to any couple (or individual) who is experiencing marital stress.

Rotatrix Friends Network

RFN: The Global Friendship Network - Get Paid To Socialize!

As you know, I very much enjoy social networking, but I really like it when I get paid for my activity. At Rotatrix Friends Network, you earn points for everything you do there - from leaving comments, to posting photos, journal entries, using the forum, and even creating polls and quizzes. You can exchange these points for cash each month! You can also put your adsense code on your profile!

Rotatrix also has a program called AdClicks, which is similar to Adsense, where you can place the code on your profile at RFN, or your own website or blog. These ads are generated by members of RFN who use their activity points to buy ads. They are then put into rotation and show up wherever you place the code. Then when someone clicks on an ad, you get paid for it. It's really very cool. There is also a traffic exchange that can help you get more traffic to your blog or website, and that's always nice. You can never have too much traffic!

They have greatly improved RFN since I joined in June 2007, and they continue to work on the site everyday to make it better and more user-friendly. I've accumulated many friends at Rotatrix Friends Network, and they are all so very helpful and kind.

Membership is free, so whatcha waitin' for?

And once you're there, spice up your profile...make it say YOU! And while you're there drop by my profile, shoot me a comment to say hello, and add me to your friends!
